The Smith County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association is organized to promote, assist and educate its membership in the protection of individual rights guaranteed by the Texas and Federal Constitutions, the preservation of the citizen and court system commitment to those rights, and the promotion of competent and ethical representation of persons accused of a crime.

SCCDLA is an affiliate of TCDLA (Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association). The purpose of SCCDLA, along with TCDLA, is to protect the rule of law and ensure those individual rights guaranteed by the Texas and Federal Constitutions in criminal cases; to resist the constant efforts which are now being made to curtail such rights: to encourage cooperation between lawyers engaged in the furtherance of such objectives though educational programs and other assistance; and through such cooperation, education and assistance to promote justice and the common good.

TCDLA Strike Force

Contact: Bobby D. Mims of Boren & Mims, PLLC at 903-595-2169 for assistance. 
Strike force is here to protect the defense function by assisting attorneys under attack for their role defending the accused. Strike force will investigate and properly vet claims before deciding what course of action to take.
